Thana (Haidos) Lopac, 87, of Duluth was taken by Christ's Angels Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, from Pancreatic Cancer.
Thana was born April 1, 1926 to Nick G. and Clara (Corcoran) Haidos in Hibbing, Minn.
She retired from U.S. Bank, Duluth in 1986. Thana was a caregiver, honest, loving, kind, yet stern when she had to be.
She was preceded in death by her only child, a daughter, Delores (Starcevich) Gornick; brother, George "Biggy" (Eleanor) Haidos of Hibbing; first husband, Charles Starcevich, of Superior and second husband, John Lopac of Duluth.
Thana is survived by her soul mate and partner, Daniel White of Duluth; stepmother, Gertrude Haidos of Hibbing; brother, Tom Haidos of Hibbing; grandsons, Tim (Crissy) Gornick of Bloomington, Tom (Kelly) Gornick of Maple Grove and their father, Jim Gornick of Edina; three great-grandchildren, Fletcher, Paisley and Deston and Crissy's two young boys; three very special cousins, Kate (Haidos) Andrews of St. Paul, George "Babe" (Elly) Haidos of Minneapolis and Mary Haidos of Scottsdale, Ariz.
The family would like to thank Susan Coen for all she did to help with care giving during this time and to coordinate a faith filled and peaceful passing with the hospice team. Thanks also to Mike and Steve from hospice and the whole hospice crew during her hospital stay. A special thank you to Dr. Bernadino and his staff for their help and encouragement.
