Linda (Suihkonen) Conan, 65, of Virginia, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary's in Duluth.
Linda Marianne Conan was born on April 7, 1948 to Eino and Sally (Lehto) Suihkonen in Virginia, Minn.
She grew up and attended school in Embarrass. She settled in Seattle for many years employed as an office administrator. Family was important to Linda. She returned to Virginia to be nearer to family after she retired. Linda loved people. She had a unique way of listening that made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. She read avidly and was eager to discuss a wide range of subjects. She loved animals, and was an advocate for animal rights. She had a quick wit and ready laugh. She was kind and caring, a good friend and the best aunt ever. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eino and Sally Suihkonen; brother, Ronald Suihkonen; brother-in-law, James Lustig; nephews Stephen Lustig and Robert Suihkonen.
Linda is survived by two sisters, Janet Lustig, Virginia, Minn., Loretta (George) Nelson, Hoyt Lakes, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Suihkonen, Windsor, Conn.; five nieces, Cindy and Carolyn Lustig, Laura (Jay) Jones, Karen (Glenn) Cusano, and Robin (Robert) Williams; two nephews, Dennis Lustig and Dan Nelson; four great-nieces Sarah (Jason) Randall, Rebecca Lustig, Sarah Cusano, Natalie Jones; six great-nephews Ryan (Jeff Bogart) Lustig, Chris (Kelsey) Lustig, Tomar Bar-On, Matthew and Loring Casarotto, Christian Cusano; great-great niece, Ashlyn Randall, and great-great nephew, Andre Stone; her beloved Poppy, and numerous family members and friends.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia, Minn., with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate.
