David Donald Busse, 73, of Duluth passed away at his home on Thursday, Dec. 12, with his wife at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 21, 1940 in Appleton, Minn.
He was baptized and confirmed at Shible Lutheran Church, Appleton, Minn., and graduated from Appleton High School in 1958. He served in the Army National Guard and moved to Minneapolis to work for Zalk Joseph Steel Warehouse as a purchasing agent. He was transferred to the Duluth office and after 22 years with Zalk Joseph he took a job as a purchasing agent for Barko Hydraulics in Superior, Wis., where he worked for 17 years.
On Dec. 8, 1962 David married Louise Kuhlmann of Boyd, Minn. They just celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage and have enjoyed many blessings on their journey together.
David was an active member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King for many years. He loved spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing, deer hunting, traveling, woodworking and took great pride in his yard and home.
David was preceded in death by his parents John and Edna Busse; sister and brother-in-law Bob and Loretta Hintz; brother-in-law Arland “Bud” Koosmann and infant brother.
David is survived by his wife, Louise; daughter Lisa (David) Gasiewicz, of Woodinville, Wash.; son Nicholas (Kristin) Busse, of Toledo, Ohio; five grandchildren, Andrew, Erik, Michelle Gasiewicz, Anna and Elsie Busse; brother, Harlan (Betty) Busse of Appleton, Minn.; and sister, Lois Koosman of New Hope, Minn.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday, Dec. 21, in Christ Lutheran Church, 320 N 28th St. E, Superior, Wis. David will be laid to rest at Oneota Cemetery. Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.
