Phyllis (Fox) Wahtera, 93, of Cloquet passed away on Dec. 3, 2013 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton.
Phyllis was born March 21, 1920 to Daniel and Myrtle Fox.
She graduated from Cloquet High School in 1937. She attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Superior and was employed at Raiter Hospital. She later worked for Inter-City Gas Company.
Phyllis was a proud, life-long Cloquet resident and member of the Cloquet Presbyterian Church. She and Lee loved to travel, camp and go fishing. They enjoyed spending winters in Arizona after retirement.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wahtera; daughter Nancy; sisters Kathleen Johansen and Shirley Brattlof.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Beth Wahtera of Ellicott City, MD and son, Richard (Jeanne) Wahtera of Bloomington, Minn., and her grandchildren Lindsey (Josh) Meyer of Spicer, Minn., Daniel Wahtera of Bloomington, Minn., and Morgan Riley of Ellicott City, MD.
