Robert Vincent Radosevich, Sr. died Nov. 12, 2013 at his home in Virginia. Robert died as he lived, quietly and with steadfast resolve. An unassuming gentleman devoted for a lifetime to the well-being of his family, he had no need for worldly accolades in life or at his death.
"RVR" will be mourned by Joyce, his wife of 60 years; his three children and their spouses; and cherished grandson, Nevin Patrick Radosevich. He shared his lifelong love of Northern Minnesota's pine forests and respect for all God's creatures with his family who delighted in his wisdom and were proud to call him husband, father and "gramps." Boston Terrier, Rascal, was Robert's walking buddy in life and faithful companion at his bedside. This past July in his singular style, RVR gracefully recited for his family a Robert Frost poem, one of many he had committed to memory. Robert lived his 86 years in full measure and faced his death with serenity.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief.
So dawn goes down to day;
Nothing gold can stay.
