Janice Ingrid Lindemood, 79 of Esko passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth with her loving family by her side.
She was born July 13, 1934 in Duluth to George Emil and Ingrid Pelletier.
Janice graduated from Proctor High School in 1952. On July 26, 1952 she married Kenneth Lindemood in Proctor. Janice chose to stay home and raise five children before starting her career. In 1970 she went to work as a counselor at the Moose Lake State Hospital. During her time there she worked on designing a program specifically for women known as Liberalis. Janice retired as Program Director in 1996.
Janice was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran in Proctor where she enjoyed Bible Study and Cursillo. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church since 1981. She was also a member of the Solway Senior Citizens, the Retired Teamsters, and the Red Hat Society in New Mexico where they wintered for many years. Janice enjoyed oil painting on canvas and a variety of other medium. She enjoyed music, singing, and playing organ. Janice was a true animal lover and will be missed by her three dogs, Precious, Hunter, and Maggie and her cat, Muffin. She was “granny” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth; children, Deb (Scott) Fichtner of St. Peter, Marylu (Bob) Josephson of Barnum, Jeff (Marjorie) Lindemood of Esko, Kimmer Lindemood of Sartell, and Kevin (Lorie Earlywine) Lindemood of Mahtowa; sister, Joyce (Dave) Peterson of Sturgeon Lake; brothers, Gerald (Carol) Pelletier of Sturgeon Lake and Gene (Cindy) Pelletier of Esko; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
VISITATION: 1 until the 2 p.m. Memorial Service Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Inurnment will be at Solway Cemetery.
