Bette Arlene Peterson, 82, of Loman died on Nov. 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1931 in Loman to Melvin and Agnes Opsahl.
She grew up in the Loman area, graduating from Indus High School before going to nursing school at Glenwood Hills in Minneapolis.
She married Clayton Peterson on Oct. 14, 1950 and resided the rest of her life in Loman. Together they raised five children.
She was supportive in helping Clayton with their logging business while being an active Mom. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church in Loman and was active in LCW, Loman Seniors Club, and enjoyed quilting with the Moose Creek Quilters. She enjoyed hosting holiday and family get togethers in Loman and at their cabin on Red Gut Bay. She was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, often attending school functions and spending quality time with them. Bette was loved by many and will be deeply miss by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Agnes; and loving husband, Clayton.
Bette is survived by her children, Jon (Kristi) of Loman, Nancy of St. Paul, Jim (Vicki) of Loman, Judy (Bill) Ludovissie of Loman, and Susan (Dennis) Bannert of International Falls, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Eric Peterson, Kristie (Matt) Haubrich, Julie (Cord) Anderson, Mindy (Noah Anderson) Ludovissie, Staci Bannert, Abby (Robbie) Rousseau, and Jake Bannert; eight great grandchildren; sister, Sharon (George) Pederson; two nieces and one nephew.
SERVICE: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, in Bethany Lutheran Church in Loman.
