Florence Lillian Stillman, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in Duluth.
She was born Dec. 22, 1918 in St. Paul, to John and Marion Davis.
Following graduation from Minneapolis Edison High School in 1936, she attended Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On June 3, 1939, she married Newland A. Stillman, moving with him to Duluth in 1942.
Florence was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, the Duluth Woman’s club and P.E.O. Chapter BY. She had served as president of both the Women’s Association at Lakeside Presbyterian Church, the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and was a board member of the Northern Bible Society. She volunteered for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital, UMD’s Tweed Museum of Art Gift Shop and worked for 10 years at J. Skylark.
She will be remembered for her love of the north woods, bird watching, ice skating, traveling and UMD Hockey.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Newland; parents; her brother, John; and a grandson, David.
Survivors include her four children, Aliceon (David Williams) Stillman, John (Joanne) Stillman, Jim (Wanda) Stillman and Tom (JoAnn) Stillman; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Margaret Maher.
PRIVATE FAMILY GATHERING: will be held at a later date. Memorials to Lakeside Presbyterian Church or an organization of the donor’s choice are welcome.
