Mareen Fay Johnson, 71, of Duluth died on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 in Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
She was born on July 1, 1942 in Park Rapids, Minn., to Lennie and Neva (McCullom) Pike.
Following high school she moved to the Duluth area and has been a resident ever since.
Mareen was employed several places over the years most notably Jon's Photography. She was also a waitress and manager at Mr. Steak for many years, L.A. Restaurant and was currently the housekeeper at Lakeview Covenant Church, where she was an active member. Some of her hobbies included bowling and bird watching. She was an avid gardener and loved walking her dog "Max" everyday keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry; her sister Delores Pike and step-son, Russ Johnson.
Survivors include her children, Leigh Thomas of Esko, Minn., Kevin (Heather) Thomas of Duluth and Melissa (Mark) Pleschourt of Dundas, Minn.; a step-daughter, Danielle Hervon of Texas; her grandchildren, Gracie, Carlissa, Breanna, Jenna, Taylor, Kylie, Courtney, Kara, Jessica and Joshua; brother, Wayne (Marty) of Park Rapids, Minn.; sisters, Darlene (Jim) Heinzen of Duluth, Diane (Charles) Tengquist of Duluth, Trude (Dale) Westby of Park Rapids, Minn.; mother in-law, Lulu Johnson; sister-in-law, Laura (Jerry) Jones; brother-in-law, Lyle (Joanie) Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in Lakeview Covenant Church until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
