David (Skoog) DeForrest, 72, died at home in Richmond, Calif., on Oct. 9, 2013.
Dave was born Nov. 25, 1940, to Herb and Eunice (Sowl) Skoog in Duluth.
He attended the Duluth Lutheran School, graduating from Denfeld in 1959.
In the U.S. Army he was a communications repairman serving in Germany when the Berlin Wall was built. Dave graduated from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, owned a bar in Sacramento, but really enjoyed driving cab in San Francisco and "schmoozing" with his fares and friends. He worked until he died.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Dan Skoog.
He is survived by his son, Herb (Teri) Skoog; daughter Marisol DeForrest; granddaughters Audrey and Kimberly Skoog; and sister Kathleen Hass, plus several nieces, nephews and cousins.
