Jack Reimer, 85, of Duluth, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, in Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Jack was born Aug. 10, 1928, to John H. Reimer and Gertrude A. Reimer. He spent time traveling the United States before he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. His military time was spent in Tacoma, Wash., and the Aleutian Islands.
Jack enjoyed fishing and football, along with a good cigar.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gertrude Reimer Shannon, Richard “Dick” Reimer and William “Bill” Reimer.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Carol Reimer, brother Gordon (Vera) Reimer; sisters Kathleen Engel and Rosemary (Ron) Severtson; sister-in-law Betty Reimer and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to his niece, Kim Reimer, who spent extra time with him over the years where they developed a special bond. Also thank you everyone who offered their personal time for Jack.
A GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave.
In lieu of flowers, direct memorials to the food shelf, Union Gospel Mission or the Damiano Center.
