Helen J. Booth, 94, longtime Togo resident, died on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 in the Bigfork Valley Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1919 in Bearville Township, the daughter of Matt and Hanna (Kaatialla) Silta.
She had lived most of her life in the Togo area, had lived in Bovey for 11 years, and most recently in Bigfork. Helen and Wilbur S. “Bud” Booth were married on Nov. 30, 1939.
She had been a member of the Bear River Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, Girl Scouts, P.T.A., and had been the Togo postmaster for over 20 years.
Her parents, Matt and Hanna Silta; a son, Jim Booth; a grandson, David Jaranson; a brother, John Silta; and two sisters, Selma Olson and Mary Blackmer preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, “Bud”; a son, Richard (Linda Lee) Booth of Grand Rapids; daughters, Jeri (Pete) Belschner and Jean Jaranson, both of Side Lake; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 in the Bethel – Trinity Lutheran Church, Bovey. Interment will be at the Bearville Cemetery at a later date. A memorial service will also be held in the Bigfork Valley Villa chapel at a later date. Arrangements are with the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine.
