Dorothy Patricia Ostrander, 93, of Duluth, died peacefully early evening Monday Oct. 7, 2013.
Dorothy was born in Mankato, Minn., on Sept. 29, 1920, to Ben and Hattie Lyons.
Dorothy attended Mankato High school and in 1940 moved to Duluth where she met the love of her life Carl, they were married Nov. 20, 1940. While living in Duluth she worked at the Aftenro Home, Hotel Duluth, St. John’s Catholic Church, all while finding time to be a homemaker.
She was an active member of her church St. John’s; and also belonged to, the All American Club, and the Owls Club.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Carl (1988); her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, David (Jan) Ostrander, and Bruce (Rachel) Ostrander, both of Duluth; brother, Richard (Sheila) Lyons of Mankato Minn.; and hundreds of nieces; nephews; grandchildren; great grandchildren, and friends.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Rosary at 6:30 Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in Dougherty Funeral Home, Visitation continues at 10 a.m., with the service beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday Oct. 11, 2013 in St. John’s Catholic Church, 4230 St. Johns Ave. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. (218) 727-3555
