Florence L. Hansen, 92, of Duluth passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013.
Florence was born in Duluth on Feb. 18, 1921 to Peter and Sarah Lindquist.
Along with her husband, Albert Hansen, they raised their family of five children on a farm in Culver, Minn., where she was employed as a mail carrier for 40 plus years. She was an excellent cook and used her culinary talents at various restaurant locations and a 4H camp in the surrounding Duluth area.
She was involved in various local community activities and a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Culver where she served on the church board.
She was preceded in death by husband Albert; her parents; sister Dagney and son-in-law Bob Bartholdi.
She is survived by her three sons, Peter Hansen (Rosanne) of Duluth, Dean Hansen (Ginny) of Cloquet and Aldwin Hansen of LaCrosse Wis.; two daughters, Phyllis Bartholdi of Blaine Minn., and Pam (Bill) Hunholz of Keewatin Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren three great-great grandchildren; niece Millie (Nick) Schneider and nephews Walter (Marlene) Anderson and Lloyd Anderson.
The family wishes to give special thanks to her caregivers at the Garden House in Riverside and St. Lukes Hospice for all of their dedicated care, compassion and love shown during her residency.
VISITATION: 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 in Faith Lutheran Church 5697 Hwy. 7 Culver, Minn. Interment will be held at Meadowlands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to either the Garden House at Riverside or the Faith Lutheran Church in Florence’s name. Services entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Chapel 218-624-5050
