Ron Joseph Landry passed away on Sept. 15, 2013, in Oldsmar, Fla.
He was born May 17, 1927 in Duluth.
Ron graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School and attended Duluth Jr. College. Ron was a World War II Navy veteran and served aboard the S.S. Nereus as a submarine tender. He saw action in the Phillipines and in Japan and was at Nagasaki and Sasebo. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He started his career with Standard Oil as a territory manager and trainer in Minnestota and North Dakota. He lived in Detroit Lakes and retired in 1985 after 38 years of service.
His hobbies were golf, fishing, poker and an afternoon at the horse track. He was an active member of the Lake Ave Lousey's in Duluth and a longtime member of Detroit Lakes Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Jane (John) Munn; son Jim (Judy); four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Patti.
He is preceded in death by his son Bob; brother Jerry; and parents Joe and Gertrude.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 12 Noon Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and visitation for the hour before the service. A celebration of life will follow at the Shorewood Pub.
