Betty J. Wehvila, 63, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospice after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on March 20, 1950 to Uno and Janie Wehvila.
Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren, animals, gardening, traveling, playing cards, watching movies and reading. She was a zoo docent and a member of TOPS for many years. She was devoted to her family and helping her friends.
Her parents and sister preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her partner, Leon Graham; daughters Dawn and Bonnie; son, Shane; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; her sister Barb and brother Uno Jr.
Betty has donated her body to the University of Minnesota's Anatomy Bequest Program for medical education and research.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 219 N. 6th Ave. East, Duluth.
