Evelyn E. (Bergstrom) Hallgren, age 90, of Duluth passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Friday, August 30, 2013, at Solvay Hospice House.
She was born March 14, 1923, in Miltona, Minn., to John and Elsie Bergstrom. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an Eastern Star Matron, but the most important things in her life were her family and her home.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 1999; her parents; and two sisters, Ruth and Doris.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Gary) Nelson of Plymouth, Minn., Marcia (Robert) Jackson of Duluth, Lori Graves of Duluth and John of Honolulu, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Marie (Wayne) Gerringer of California and Kay (Jim) Sikes of Texas; a brother, John Bergstrom of Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Solvay Hospice House for their loving care of Evelyn and her family.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Solvay Hospice House or Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Hospice Home Care.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, with gathering of family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 E. 8th St. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.
