Myrtle Sylvia Wiedemann, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed from this life to a better one on Aug. 18, 2013.
Myrtle was born on June 24, 1917 to Gunhilda Vestad Holm and Hans Otto Holm, in Duluth.
She grew up in Duluth. She married Marvin Wiedemann, and together they raised their three children. She was a homemaker and seamstress.
She was a devout member of Peace United Church of Christ and a member of the General Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with family, good friends, her constant companion, Peanuts; and shared the results of her passion for knitting and crocheting with others.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Astrid Holm; husband Marvin; son Bruce and brother Ralph Holm.
She is survived by her children, Warren (Marge) of Duluth and Margie Hansen of Temecula, Calif.; step-sister Doris (Bill) Luhm of Palm Springs, Calif.; grandchildren Jill, Jeffrey (Cindy), Jay, (Jamie), Heidi, Brett (Rebekah), and Jodi Lynn; great grandchildren, Ian, Anna, Sydney, Nicholas, Maxwell, Trinidee, Corbin, Garrett and step-grandchildren, Lucas (Amanda), Laura (Ryan) and many nieces and nephews.
Myrtle's family would like to thank the staff at Chris Jensen (Willows Unit) for their extraordinary care of our loved one.
SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in Peace United Church in Christ, 1111 N. 11th Avenue E. with visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery.
