Alice Elizabeth (Perala) Rosenholm, 70, of Floodwood, died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 in Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
Alice was born to Walter and Amelia Perala in the back seat of their ’41 Ford on April 16, 1943 in route to the hospital.
She grew up in Toivola, attending Toivola Meadowlands School, graduating Valedictorian in 1961. On July 1, 1961 she married Kenneth Rosenholm and worked for a short time as a Clerk/Typist for St Louis County. Their son, Kerry was born in 1963. After moving to Halden in 1967 Alice began work as Secretary at Floodwood School, where she retired as Business Manager many years later.
Alice took great pride in her work, and was an active member of the community. She was the Halden Town Clerk, a member of the Halden Women’s Club, the Floodwood Business Community Partnership, and several other organizations. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. As she celebrated her 70th birthday earlier this year, Alice received a very special gift, her great granddaughter, Aylee was born.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Floodwood; son, Kerry (Amy) Rosenholm of Esko; grandchildren, Grant (Sabrina) Rosenholm of Superior and Jackie Rosenholm of River Falls, Wis.; great granddaughters, Jade and Aylee Rosenholm; siblings, Toivo (Cleone) Perala of Hermantown, Viola (Mark) Judd of Esko, and Donald (Onayde) Perala of Panama; and several nieces and nephews.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 in the Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet with visitation one hour prior.
