Margaret E. Larson Bennington, 74, Loving Mom, Gramma, sister and aunt was escorted by angels as she made her final journey on Thursday Aug. 15, 2013 surrounded by family who meant so very much to her.
Margaret was born and raised in Bemidji, Minn. She dedicated her life to raising her two girls in Silver Bay, Minn., and was later a large part in the lives of her grandchildren. Margaret was a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader and Arthritis Foundation volunteer. She also enjoyed part-time jobs at St. Mary’s Hospital, Holiday gas station and as lunchroom monitor at Piedmont Elementary School, having the chance to thoroughly embarrass her grandkids at school.
Waiting to welcome Margaret to Heaven was her husband of 53 years, Gene; parents Clarence and Grace (Barney) Larson; brothers, Ray and Rog Larson; son-in-law Paul Zaslasky and her best furry buddy Angel.
She leaves behind and is already greatly missed by two daughters, Debbie Reed-Clark (Duluth), and Pamela Zaslasky (Plymouth, Minn.); three grandchildren, Nichole Reed (Duluth), Michael Reed (Duluth) and Hannah Zaslasky (Plymouth, Minn.); three brothers, Loren (MaryLou) Larson (Alexandria, Minn.), Dick (Judy) Larson (Warroad, Minn.), and Larry (Paula) Larson (Las Vegas, Nev.); one sister, Nancy (Ray) Sand (Warroad, Minn.); many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 in First Memorial Funeral Chapel, with a visitation Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
