Bill was born in Duluth on March 11, 1938 to Alexander H. and Mabel Ramsay.
He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1956.
After the loss of his father at the age of 18, Bill successfully took over the family business. Fueled by an unquenchable entrepreneurial spirit, Bill took on many business endeavors throughout his life. He was the owner and operator of Automatic Vendors, was a real estate broker for 10 years in northwestern Wisconsin and ran concessions at Treasure Hills Golf Course in Harlingen later in life.
The best moments of his life were spending time with his three kids. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by daughters Lisa (Craig) Wilson of Duluth, Kim (Wade) Stromgren of Superior; and son Dane (Marisa) Ramsay of St. Michael, Minn.; six grandchildren; brothers Jimmy (Shirley), Tommy, and Jackie (Pam); sister Mary Margaret; many nieces and nephews; and long-time companion Laurie Scott.
