John Anthony Zauhar, 90, lifelong resident of Nashwauk, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at Grand Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids surrounded by his family and friends
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Tolyan Zauhar; daughter, Mary Beth Vazquez; brothers, Tom, Russell, and Henry; sisters, Bonnie Satovich and Elizabeth Schullo; and his parents.
John is survived by his wife, N. Kim Zauhar; two daughters, Michelle (Bill) Smith, Austin, Texas, and Jean (Kevin) Hammelev, Glendale, Ariz.; three step sons, Tim (Anita) Provinzino, Chisholm, Minn., Paul Provinzino, Cohasset, Minn., Tony (Toni Henderson) Provinzino, Comstock, Minn.; his sister, Margaret Wijas, Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Rosemary (Brent) Hall, Ariel and Ariann Smith, Matthew and Lauren Hammelev, Whitney, Teagan, and Dominic Provinzino; one great grandson, David John Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICE: 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Dennis Hoffman celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be in the Church, Friday starting at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, Minn. Memorials are preferred to the Nashwauk Community Foundation.
