Viola H. Coleman, long time resident of Duluth, died peacefully at the Golden Living/AseraCare Hospice in Decatur, Ga., on Monday July 29, 2013.
She was born on April 8, 1920 in McKenney, Va.
Viola, the wife of Nelson Lee Coleman, Sr. (who preceded her in death) were married for 60 years.
They were residents of Duluth for over 50 years; together they raised their family of 10 children, served as foster parents and surrogate parents to many of their children's friends.
Preceding her in death husband Nelson, Sr.; sons, Wesley, Nelson Jr., and James "Purcell"; daughter Lucille Johnson and grandson Marc Coleman; parents and siblings.
Mrs. Coleman leaves to cherish her memory children, Mary Harris, Mattie (William) Gillispie of Wilmington N.C., Irene (Edward) Sanders of Duluth, Diana (Glen) Kelly of Flint, Mich., Lynnea Bailey of Decatur, Ga., and Michael (Therese) Coleman of Lakeville, Minn.
VISITATION: 12 Noon Aug. 5, 2013 until 1 p.m. funeral service in the Sunrise Memorial Chapel.
