Robert D. Lindholm, 78 of Cloquet, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home with the love of his life, Isabelle, at his side.
He was born March 16, 1935 in Fort Frances, Ontario to Victor and Anna (Persson) Lindholm.
Bob was the youngest of nine brothers and grew up in Fort Frances. He and Isabelle "Izzy" were high school sweethearts and were united in marriage on Oct. 30, 1954 in Fort Frances. They moved to the United States and he became a naturalized citizen on June 11, 1959.
Bob was an avid athlete all his life, after high school he had several offers to play division one hockey and professional hockey, but chose to make a life with Isabelle instead. His first job was as a cement finisher working construction at the Reserve Mining site in Silver Bay, Minn. He then went on to become a member of Local 49 Heat & Frost Insulators for over 40 years
Bob is survived by his wife, Isabelle of Cloquet; children Linnea (Becky) Lindholm of Florida, Victoria Lindholm of Duluth, Mark (Mary) Lindholm and Lori (Pat) Meisner of Cloquet; grandchildren Alyse Lindholm (Joel LaFontaine), Blythe (Steve) Thomas, Joshua Meisner and Sierra Lindholm; numerous nieces and nephews; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
VISITATION: 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 until the 3 p.m. memorial service in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed with a luncheon in the fellowship room. See the family online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net
