Francis William Habert, 90, of Duluth passed away peacefully Sunday, July 28, 2013.
He was born Feb. 18, 1923 in Duluth to Frank and Mary Habert.
Frank was a veteran of World War II. He worked for Allied Van Lines in Duluth for 45 years and received the Arthur Godfrey “Gentleman of the Highway” award. This award is one of the highest honors a professional truck driver can receive. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Frank was preceded in death by his wonderful, loving wife of 50 years, Betty (Opheim), who was waiting for him on the other side; two sons, William and Franklin Habert; two grandchildren, Nathan Habert and Annie Gilderman; two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his children, Linda (Dave) Sodahl, Barb Grenier, Ted Habert, Roger Habert, Ken Habert and Tim (Paula Lian) all of Duluth, Bettianne (Mike) Roberts of Island Lake and Shelly (Kirk) Olson of Fredenberg Twsp.; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation for their wonderful care and kindness.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31st in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Aug. 1, in St. James Catholic Church, 721 N. 57th Ave. W. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
