Marguerite Cox Larson, 92, of Duluth, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Duluth.
She was born Feb. 27, 1921 in Duluth to Alan and Julia Cox.
She was a 1939 graduate of Duluth Central High School. Marguerite married Carl A. Larson July 4, 1939. Throughout her life, she was active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, past president of Grant Elementary School PTA, volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital, Sunday School teacher at First Lutheran Church, and also, enjoyed square dancing and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Tom Fitzpatrick; and her husband of 65 years, Carl, in 2004.
Marguerite is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Wooster of Mt. Pleasant, Wis., and Phyllis (Glenn) Stimler of Plymouth, Minn.; her son, Richard (Barbara) Larson of Bailey, Colo..; her sister Jane (Allen) Krause of Two Harbors, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces and a nephew.
VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Dougherty Funeral Home, continuing on Monday, July 29, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Dougherty Funeral Home. Memorials directed to First Lutheran Church’s Radio Broadcast program would be appreciated. Entombment will be at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery, Hermantown.
