Joshua Wallace Linden, 28, of Brooklyn Center, Minn., formerly of Duluth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones Saturday, July 20, 2013.
Josh was born May 3, 1985, in Wakefield, R.I., to Velvet R. (Smith) and Ronald M. Linden. He was a 2003 graduate of Denfeld High School and was currently completing his final year at St. Paul College.
Josh was a proud member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. He was very athletic and an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, hockey and golf. He made friends wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rose Marie Lundberg; maternal grandfather Raymond William “Bill” Smith; and an uncle, Raymond Smith.
Josh is survived by his loving parents, Ron and Velvet Linden, of Duluth; his sister, Amanda (Wendell Hoagland) Linden, of Brooklyn Center; his loving partner, Erin Schubert, of Brooklyn Center; paternal grandfather Ronald Wallace Linden of Duluth; maternal grandmothers Judy (Les) Northrup of Cloquet and Marcella Smith of Duluth; aunts and uncles, Kathy (Rob) Kreth of Maplewood, Minn., and Veronica (Reggie Defoe) Smith, Richard Smith, Vanessa (Tony Fish) Northrup, Victoria (Roger) Smith, Monica (Aaron) DeCaro, Rachel Smith and Mariah Smith, all of Cloquet; many, many cousins, other relatives and friends; and Josh will also be sadly missed by his sassy dogs, Lily and Remy.
VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 22, and 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, July 23, all at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
