Betty Jean Holmes, 83, passed away July 11, 2013, with her loving family and Pastor David Mork at her side.
Jean was born July 10, 1930, in East Grand Forks, Minn. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Jean was a true saint. She loved her family and her church family. Her faith in Christ was her strength and hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Delia Coverston; brothers Earl, John and Ray Coverston; and her sister, Frances Lawonn.
Jean is survived by her best friend and husband, the Reverend Gerald Holmes; daughters Kathy (Steven) Rudh and Tammy (David) Paulson; son Paul; grandchildren Nathan Paulson and Nicole (Samuel) Lewis; great-grandchildren Lindsay, Jackson and Maxwell Lewis; and her sister, Alice (Bill) Sauer.
Many thanks to Dr. Timothy Kleinschmidt and the staff in the ICU and 6 West at St. Luke's hospital, the Benedictine Health Care Center, Pastor David Mork, her dear friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church, and to her dear neighbors who gave Jean support and encouragement for many years.
VISITATION: 12 noon until the 1 p. m. Service of Remembrance in Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1505 Eklund Ave., Duluth, Tuesday, July 16, with Pastor David Mork officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Samaritan's Purse - International Relief.
