Ronald J. “Chiefy” Troumbly, 73, Taconite, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, in his home with his family at his side.
Ronald worked for J & L Mining Company for many years. He also worked as the Iron Range Township supervisor for 37 years. He was a member of the Taconite Fire Department, serving as Chief for over 19 years. Ronald loved hunting, fishing, his dogs, Bobo, Sniff, and Soxie, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Ronald’s favorite saying was, “once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.” His humor and wisdom will be missed by all who loved him.
His parents, Gabriel and Ethel, and three brothers, Shorty, Kenneth (Jane) and his twin, Donald (Connie) preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jeanette; his sons, Rock (Vee), Jeff (Paula), Snuff, Gabe (Leanna); his daughter, Jody (Justin); 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Bucko (Maryanne), Slimmy (Sylvia), Beverly (John) Mikulich, Mary Jane (Bill) Spooner, Betty Lou (Ed) Hoey, and Robert (Barb), and a sister-in-law, Betty.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine. To leave an online condolence, please go to petersonfuneralchapelofcoleraine.com.
