William Lloyd Ronn, 71, of Ely, Minn., loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with gall bladder cancer on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at his home on Farm Lake surrounded by his family.
Bill was born in Duluth on May 18, 1942 to Lloyd and Esther Ronn.
Bill grew up in Duluth and moved to Ely in 1960, where he worked at Reserve Mining for 26 years, as a contractor for Lake County responsible for the buses for 30 years, and ran Canoe Country Electric for 20 years.
Bill and Shirley raised their family on both Fall and Farm lakes. After retirement, Bill and Shirley spent winters at their condo in Estero, Florida on Stoneybrook Golf Course. Bill was adventurous and courageous and his family was always his top priority. To his children and grandchildren he has instilled the importance of a strong work ethic, a witty sense of humor, winning at a game of cards, and a passion for hunting and fishing. Bill influenced many others as well as evidenced by the great number of memories many have shared on his Caringbridge site. His wisdom will live on in all those who had the pleasure to spend time with Bill.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
