Grace Lenora Gigliotti, 89, of Grand Rapids, Minn., and formerly of Sandstone, Minn., passed away peacefully at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
She was born in 1923 to William and Stella Prenevost in Sandstone, Minn.
She married Joseph J. Gigliotti on Aug. 26, 1950. They inherited the house she was born in and started a family of their own. Grace enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, homemaker and gardener and was a deeply devoted Catholic. She was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Grace will be remembered for her gentle soul and endless love and kindness.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Prenevost; and her husband, Joseph J. Gigliotti.
She is survived by her children, Thomas (Lynne) Gigliotti of Grand Rapids, Minn., Michael (Nancy) Gigliotti of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Mario Gigliotti of Talmoon, Minn.; her two grandchildren, Joe Gigliotti and Amanda Gigliotti-Leppala (Adam Leppala), both of Duluth; her sister, Maxine Satarino of Dallax, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other relatives.
The family would like to thank Dr. Barry and Dr. Lick, the nurses and all of the staff at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital for the excellent care given to Grace in her final days. They would also like to thank the staff at Grand Village Nursing Home and the Manor House for their care of Grave over the last decade.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13, until the 11 a.m. Celebration of Life in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, Minn. Rev. Fr. Drew Braun will officiate. Burial will be at Spring Park Cemetery, Sandstone, Minn.
