Mary Louise (Mesich) Feeny
Mary Louise (Mesich) Feeny, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at her daughter’s home.
Mary was born in Ironwood, Mich., on Jan. 10, 1923, to Steve and Mary (Gerovac) Mesich. She had worked as a bookkeeper at U.S. Steel and Larry’s TV. Mary married Larry Feeny in 1954 and together they shared a wonderful life. Together they had two children, Jim and Carole, and they owned and operated Larry’s TV for 31 years. Mary loved being with her kids and grandchildren and following all of their activities. In her later years, Thursday was her favorite day — getting her hair done and playing Bingo with “the girls” at the Senior Center. Mary was a member of St. James Catholic Church and its St. Margaret’s Guild and the American Legion Auxillary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister, and her loving husband, Larry, on July 11, 1993.
Mary is survived by her son Jim (Jeanne) Feeny of St. Cloud, Minn.; her daughter Carole (Jeff) Borndal of Hermantown; her grandchildren by whom she was called “Nana”: Kallie, Ryan and Mackenzie Feeny, Lauren Borndal, Emily (Dave) Thom, Brianna Borndal, Jake (Kate Scherer) Borndal; five great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Fracassi; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Mesich, Donna Mesich and Ruth Mesich; and nieces and nephews.
Mary’s family would like to thank Polly LaPlante with Home Instead for all her loving care of Mom, and all our friends and family for their love and support.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 727-3555.
