Herbert Jylka, of Cromwell, Minn., passed away on April 11, 2013.
He was born Oct. 31, 1928.
He left home to sail the Great Lakes and then joined the U.S. Navy for two years. He then joined the newly created U.S. Airforce, served for 21 years, and after an honorable discharge came to Duluth. Herb returned to sail the Great Lakes and afterward worked at local Duluth businesses and lived in Duluth until his death.
Herb is preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Signe Hill; nieces and nephews, and by close friends Peggy and Dick and Rodeo.
SERVICES: will not be held per Herb’s request. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a future date.
