Judith Gucinski 71, of Gordon, Wis., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, surrounded by her family.
Judith was born Dec. 26, 1941 in Duluth, to Lucien and Francis (Sequin) Deriemaeker.
She graduated from Denfeld High School in Duluth. Judith worked for the U.S. Air force Civilian Personnel from 1960 to 1995 primarily at the Duluth – Minn., Air force base and the KI Sawyer Air force base in Michigan. She retired in Sept. 1995, when the KI Sawyer closed.
She married Martin on April 20, 1963, they were looking forward to their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Judy belonged to the Business of Professional Women; she served her church for many years in a variety of ways. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and gardening. Judy was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gordon, Wis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Duane Deriemaeker.
Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her husband Martin of Gordon, Wis.; one son Stephen (Laura) Gucinski; two grandchildren Katrina and Benjamin Gucinski; brother Duane (Geri) Deriemaeker; three sisters Mary (Tom) Donahue, Phyllis Ballantine, and Pat Sundeen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the St. Pius X Catholic Church of Solon Springs, Wis. Father James Kinney will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church on Saturday.
