David Steven Bullock, 81, died peacefully in his home on Friday, April 5, 2013.
He was born to Harry and Blanche Bullock on April 15, 1931 in Grand Rapids.
He attended schools in Grand Rapids. David was joined in marriage to Carol Joan Snell on Aug. 15, 1953.
He worked for M.A. Hanna Mines and retired in 1993 from the Blandin Paper Company after 32 years.
David was a lifelong member of the Grand Rapids Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served as an elder for 41 years. The last 18 years of his life he and his wife served as fulltime door-to-door volunteer ministers in the community. David enjoyed being with his family and associating with the worldwide brotherhood. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “Papa” and they enjoyed listening to him play the accordion. His hobbies included working around his home, gardening, and in later years he even raised a few chickens. He also appreciated classic cars.
His Bible based faith enabled him during the last months of his life to look to the future with confidence in God’s promises. In addition his faith continues to bring comfort to his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Blanche; and his siblings, Tibby Casper, James Bullock, Mary Inglebret, and Harry Bullock, Jr.
David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol; his daughter, Jane (Tim) Wilcox of Grand Rapids; three sons, Brent (Lorna) Bullock of Taiwan, Dave (Debbie) Bullock Jr. of Grand Rapids, and Matthew Bullock of Grand Rapids; one sister, Jean (Emory) DuPre of Minneapolis; one brother, John (Shelby) Bullock of Texas; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 35289 Foxtail Lane, Cohasset, Minn. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota, 218-624-5200.
