He was born July 21, 1947, in Tuscola, Ill., to John W. and Mabel J. Goode.
Roger graduated from Arcola High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Air Force in 1966. He was first stationed at the Duluth Air Force Base and then transferred to Mildenhall Air Force Base in Germany.
In 1969, Roger married Vicki Scott, whom he had met while stationed in Duluth. He worked as a Building Maintenance Engineer in several Duluth office buildings for 40 years, retiring from Oneida Realty in July, 2012.
Roger had the Christmas spirit and enjoyed “lighting up the night” during the holiday season. He was a member of the N.V.V.A, and volunteered at the local V.F.W. Post where he loved to sing karaoke every Friday night. Roger also enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Roger is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vicki; daughter, Stacy Goode and son, Scott (Sandy); a brother, John R. Goode and sisters, Kathy Adolph and Barbara Lawson; aunts, Mae Robison and Jane Wesselman; mother-in-law, Elma French; sisters-in-law, Donna Schuldes and Gale (Clem) Solarz; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the St. Luke’s I.C.U. and Cardiac Units for their wonderful care of Roger during his stay.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service Thursday, April 11, in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, 624-5200.
