Selma Emelia (Spikberg) Arbuckle, 94, of Saginaw, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 20, 1918 in Amboy, Minn., to William and Augusta (Dallmann) Janke.
Selma was the oldest member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw, and the last member of the first group of Lutheran Missionary Women's League.
Selma was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Carl Amborn; first husband, Edward Spikberg; second husband, Orland Arbuckle; two brothers, Harvey and William Janke; and one sister, Elva Janke.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Carroll) Raether, Marvin (Elaine) Spikberg, Dianne (Bernard) Shearer, and Dennis (Linda) Spikberg; two brothers, Howard (Esther) Amborn and Ronald (Karen) Amborn; nine grandchildren, Fonda, Andrea, James, Heather, Corey, Travis, Alisha, Christopher, and Joshua; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to St. Luke's Hospice, Dr. Daniel Robinson and the staff at the Denfeld Clinic.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in St. John's Lutheran Church in Saginaw. See the family online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.com
