VIRGINIA "GINNY" WANNERVirginia "Ginny" Wanner died on Sunday, March 24.
Virginia "Ginny" Wanner died on Sunday, March 24. After a courageous battle with old age, at 94 she declared herself the winner and left this life on her own terms choosing to fight no more. She now joins her husband of nearly 70 years Frank Wanner who left two years ago.
Virginia was born on Dec. 4, 1918 in Duluth where she would live for most of her life, graduating from Denfeld High School, being a wonderful wife, raising a son and making lifelong friends. Retirement years (over 30) were split between the cabin and Dunedin, Florida. Two years ago she returned to Duluth following Frank's death and took up residence at St. Ann's where she made many more good friends.
Having reached 94 years of age it is to be expected that Virginia had outlasted a great many important people in her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents Ross and Edith Gatlin; brother Dean (Betty) Gatlin; sisters Shirley Maas and Margaret (Cliff) Siverson; brother and sisters-in-laws and many good friends.
Surviving her and missing Virginia are her son Frank and daughter-in-law Renee; grandchildren Ben (Jennifer) Wanner, Tim (Jennifer) Wanner; great grandchildren, Ella and Otis Wanner, and several nieces and nephews.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: will be held at a later date.
