Russell L. Braden, 95, formerly of Duluth, died peacefully on March 20, 2013.
He was born in Virginia, Minn.
He was a First Lieutenant in the 776th Tank Destroyer Battalion, Company C in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. He raised his family in Duluth, and was a lifelong Mason and Elks Club member.
Survived by wife of 62 years, Amelia; sons, Andrew (Rebecca) and Richard (Sharon); grandchildren, Andrea (TJ) Johnson, Anthony - Captain USAF, Joel, Karissa, Kenzie, and Austin.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, in Johanna Shores, 3220 Lake Johanna Blvd., Arden Hills, Minn. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
