VICTORIA A. BLOOMQUIST

Victoria A. Bloomquist, 91, longtime Superior resident, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

Victoria A. Bloomquist, 91, longtime Superior resident, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1921 in Superior, Wis., to Leo and Anna (Gratt) Blatt.

Known to everyone as Vickie, she was employed as a clerk for the former Daughtery Hardware Co. in Duluth for over 20 years retiring in 1986. Before her marriage, she was employed at the Twin Ports Creamery in Superior.

She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She and her husband Joe had enjoyed their cabin in Lake Nebagamon for many years. She had loved to travel with her husband visiting Europe, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and South America. She also enjoyed gardening.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph; son Michael; brother Leo Blatt; sisters Josephine McMeekin and Sister Mary Victoria Blatt and parents Leo and Anna Blatt.

Victoria is survived by her son, Steven Bloomquist, Superior, Wis.; granddaughter, Melissa (Michael) Jimeniz, Pueblo, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Michael and Madison, Pueblo, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Burial will be at Lake Nebagamon Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Pallbearers for the service will be Todd Blatt, Troy Blatt, Tammi Gimpel, Jim Jarzynski, Nick Jarzynski and Gary Gravesen.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
