LOIS YVONNE TENNEY

Lois Yvonne Tenney 73, of Hawthorne, Wis. passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center in Duluth.

Lois Yvonne Tenney 73, of Hawthorne, Wis., passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center in Duluth.

Lois was born April 30, 1939 in Solon Springs, Wis., to the late Glen and Ruth Hankins.

Lois graduated from Solon Springs School District and went on to be a substitute teacher for the school.

She married John Tenney Nov. 17, 1962 they enjoyed 51 years of marriage together.

She enjoyed the wildlife, quilting, doing crafts with her grandchildren, working at the Hawthorne Town Hall during Elections. Lois was very much a part of her community. She belonged to the Bennett Piecemakers Quilting Club and Mission Covent Church in Poplar, Wis.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared her life are her husband of 51 years John of Hawthorne, Wis.; five children Susan (Henry) Mohn of Shiocton, Wis., Rhonda Tenney of Juneau, Alaska, John Jr. Tenney of Superior, Wis., Joseph Scott Tenney of Superior, Wis., James (Jessica) Tenney of Amnicon Township, Wis.; 18 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; four brothers Russel (Jeanie) Hankins of Nebraska, Stanley (Lois) Hankins of Albert Lee, Minn., David Linda) Hankins of Solon Springs, Wis., and Roger (Tia) Hankins of Solon Springs, Wis.; two sisters Lorretta Howland of Minnesota, Dorothy (Gary) Swanson of Grand Forks, N.D.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Mission Covent Church in Hawthorne, Wis. Pastor Darrell Nelson will officiate. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Solon Springs, Wis.
