Carol Marie (Hudson) Vizenor, 69 of Pengilly, Minn., died on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 in her home.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Minn., she was the daughter of Clifford and Laura Hudson.
She was raised in Goodland, Minn. She graduated from the Nashwauk High School in 1961. She married Donald Vizenor on Sept. 2, 1961 in Goodland. Together they raised their family in Grand Rapids, Virginia, St. Paul, Anoka, Cass Lake and then finally moving back to the area they were raised, Pengilly. She was a full time mom for several years before going back to college. She graduated from Itasca Community College in 1992 with an Associates of Arts degree in Accounting. She worked from H & M Auto for 10 years. After new ownership at H & M Auto, she left and went on to work at the Wal-Mart Bakery in Hibbing as the Primary day shift cake decorator and then transferred to Wal-Mart in Grand Rapids where she was currently employed.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. On her days off, she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. She was a woman of many talents including sewing, knitting, crocheting and cake decorating. She also enjoyed reading books, doing puzzles, gardening and traveling. She looked forward to her weekly lunch dates with siblings, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Hudson and a brother, Richard Hudson.
She is survived by her husband Donald; children. Gloria (Larry) Day of Walker, Minn., Dan (Andrea) Vizenor of Bemidji, Minn., Steve Vizenor of Bemidji, Minn., Julie (James) Peacock of Cass Lake, Minn., Laurie (Kevin Cochran) Vizenor-Troumbly of Bemidji, Minn., and Bryan (Jenica) Vizenor of Pengilly, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Ardyce Drawz of Grand Rapids, Minn.; and a brother, Robert Hudson of Chippewa Falls, Wis.
