DAVID L. PATRICK, SR.

David L. Patrick, Sr. went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Colleen on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.

David L. Patrick, Sr., went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Colleen on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. David was cared for and surrounded by his children during his lengthy illness at home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1939 in Duluth, to Leo and Thelma Patrick.

At the age of 15, he met Colleen Dolan. They were united in marriage on Jan. 15, 1957 in the Holy Rosary Chapel and resided in the Duluth area, where they raised five children.

David worked at the London Inn Drive Inn, Duluth Curling Club, U.S. Steel, retiring from Superwood (Georgia Pacific) on Feb. 28, 2005.

He was known for his laugh, great sense of humor and storytelling. He loved spending time with his family, hiking in Chester Bowl, spending time on Lake Superior, listening to KDAL Talk Radio, the Minnesota Vikings and the Twins games.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen; his parents; in-laws, Norman and Catherine Dolan; and son-in-law, Timothy Couture.

He is survived by his children, Debbie (Dennis Bowen) Patrick, David (Rhonda) Patrick, Jr., Dawn (Rob Hilde) Camps, Denise Couture and Cathy (Erik) Patrick-Olson; grandchildren, Kristy (Kris), Jamie, Breanne, Travis, Marissa, KayLeigh, and Dolan; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Emmett; his brother, Robert (Camille) Patrick; sisters-in-law, Jean (Stanley) Koski and Delores Dolan; many nieces, nephews and dear friends, including Gary Foster, Gene Curnow and friends and staff at London Road Carwash; and special dog, Minnie Chocolate Chip.

He will be sadly missed by all but will forever remain in our hearts. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Lakeview Bldg., Oncology Center with a special thank you to Dr. Martinelli and the amazing staff of Essentia Health and Hospice Home Care.

VISITATION: 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m. memorial service Thursday, Feb. 28, in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., 624-5200.

I was very sorry to see this today. I have lots of great memories of David and Colleen and the whole Patrick clan in tow, when they would come to "The Reef" where I worked as a bartender. Dave was always easy to share a laugh! I'm sorry for your loss everyone..... Dell Erickson
