ROBERT C. "BOB" "UBE" UEBELACKER, JR.

Robert C. Uebelacker, Jr. "Bob" "UBE" Albuquerque, N. Mex., and formerly of Duluth passed away in Boston after surgery for Mesothelioma.

Robert C. Uebelacker, Jr. "Bob" "UBE" Albuquerque, N. Mex., and formerly of Duluth passed away in Boston after surgery for Mesothelioma.

Bob was born in Duluth, to Robert Sr. and Dorothy Uebelacker.

Bob graduated from Denfeld High School in 1966 and the University of Minnesota. He obtained advanced degrees from the University of Colorado and University of Maryland, College Park. He entered the U.S. Air Force and served on active duty for 22 years. He was a B-52 pilot and also flew the U-2. He continued to serve with distinction as a civil servant; the last four years as a Systems Engineer in the Space Development & Test Directorate.

A devoted husband, beloved son, brother, friend and patriot Bob was a great American whose life was spent in the service of our nation.

Quiet, soft spoken and unassuming, Bob was an engineer by degree and a pilot by profession. He loved flight operations and space exploration. His work with the Space Development and Test Direcorate at Kirkland AFB in New Mexico was a capstone assignment that brought him great satisfaction.

His hobbies included scuba diving and he had many adventures around the world with his wife Sally.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Sally; brother, Gary; sisters, Diane (Gary) Boyd, Rita (Tom) Atkinson and Karen (Dave) Marsaa; sisters-in-law, Cookie, Peggy, Susan and brother-in-law, Joe; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends around the world.

SERVICES: will be held in Albuquerque, N.Mex.

Sorry to see that Robert has passed.It sort of hits close to home. Funny thing tho, I can't ever recall his being called Robert or Bob. He was always Robby Uebelacker. Steve Kreager
