Clarence "C.W." Honkala, 75, of Glendale, Calif., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 in the city of Glendale, Calif.
Clarence was born Nov. 21, 1937 in Duluth to Alfred and Martha (Glader) Honkala and was raised by foster parents, Byron and Ila Gunnarson of Adolf, Minn., and by Herbert and Vivian (Honkala) Huard of Carlton, Minn., and now Duluth.
C.W. attended Hermantown schools and then graduated from Carlton High School, Carlton, Minn., in 1955.
C.W. was a self-employed insurance broker, general agent and sales manager for over 40 years.
C.W. and his wife, Felicidad, moved to Glendale, Calif., in 1993 where he attended acting and voice-over schools and became a member of the Screen Actor's Guild. He performed in commercials, educational and industrial films.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents Byron and Ila Gunnarson and their three children Richard, Lowell and Ila; three brothers Delbert and Maynard Honkala and Marvin (Honkala) Gunnarson; and one sister Dory (Honkala) Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Felicidad; one son Kyle Honkala of Petersburg, Ill.; two daughters, Thelithia (Paul) McCarty of Springhill, Fla., and Yvonne (Daniel) Buckley of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one step daughter, Rowena Anonas of Glendale, Calif.; three step sons, Victor Anonas of Glendale, Calif., and Aris and Dindo Anonas of Manila, Philippines; one brother Wil (Doris) Honkala of St. Paul; four sisters, Vivian Huard, Marilyn (Lee) Fawcett, Cheryl Schinigoi of Duluth and Dolly (Larry) Wood of Two Harbors, Minn.; and 13 grandchildren.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 until the 11 a.m. memorial service in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd., Duluth. Cremation and burial took place at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries in Glendale, Calif.
