Heather Marie Persgard, 59, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.
She was born Jan. 8, 1954 in Duluth.
Growing up she was fortunate to be involved with her grandparents’ (Ray and Ellen Ward) mink ranch on the North shore, days she fondly remembered.
After Proctor High School she moved to California and made a successful career, managing several large apartment complexes.
Upon returning to Duluth, she met and married George Persgard Jr. (Bud), together they raised a blended family of three daughters and a son.
Heather loved music, had a legendary “green” thumb, and shared a passion for orchids with her Mother. Though a homemaker, she was at her husband’s side through his many endeavors. Caring and compassionate by nature, her warm and gracious ways laid the foundation for a ton of lasting friendships. She left us all much too soon.
She will be forever and lovingly remembered by her parents, Rose and Bill Schilling of Pike Lake; her brother Bill Schilling of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters Tiffany Jakubek, Jodi Persgard, Nicole Persgard (Mark Turner); and a son George Persgard III, all of Duluth; her dear friend and confidant, Michele Isaacson; as well as her “Wolf Pack” Otto, Molly, Keira, and Luna. “Gee ain’t it funny how time slips away.”...Willy Nelson.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in the Cremation Society of Minnesota on Friday, Jan. 25, with visitation at 1 p.m.

Bud, Jimi called me from China last night...with a broken heart....to share with me the news of Heather's passing. She was like a mom to him and he has many fond memories of the times you all spent together. He wishes he was not so far away so that he could be with you and pay his last respects to someone he dearly loved. I know that you will be very lonely without Heather as the two of you were so cute together. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Susan SidesSaint Cloud, MN 01/24/2013 1:13 PM
