Donna J. Anderson Beckman, 78 of Floodwood died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Duluth with her loving family by her side.

Donna J. Anderson Beckman, 78 of Floodwood died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Duluth with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Grass Lake Twsp., Braham on July 29, 1934 to John and Martha Anderson.

She graduated from Braham High School in 1951. Donna moved to Minneapolis and worked at Thermo King. She married Marvin Beckman on Feb. 25, 1956 in Braham. They made their home in Floodwood and Hibbing for a short time before moving to Duluth in 1968. While in Duluth, Donna worked for St. Louis County for 34 years, retiring in 1992 from the Child Support offices.

As a young girl, Donna was active in sports. She enjoyed softball and bowling. In later years, she enjoyed traveling, fishing, RVing, boating, and building several of their homes and cabins with her husband.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Floodwood, serving as Auxiliary President. She was also active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary as Flotilla Secretary and in conducting safe boating inspections.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; sister, Adelle Boettcher; and brother, Larry Anderson.

She is survived by her son, Terry of Duluth; daughter, Marva (Tony Lasky) Beckman of Duluth; and grandson, Terry Beckman II of Duluth.

VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 in Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the Ages Building. Inurnment will be in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Township. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
