Guy Perfetti, 94, Duluth, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at his home.

He was born in Hibbing, Minn., on July 13, 1918 to Carmine and Mary Perfetti.

He attended Assumption Hall and graduated from Hibbing High School. He married Mary Alice Bolger on April 14, 1943 at Briggs Field in El Paso, Texas. Guy was an Army Air Forces Veteran of World War II serving in Italy and North Africa. After the war he sold cakes for the Grennan Cake Company until he started his career with the Taystee Bread Company which spanned 45 years and missing only one day of work.

Guy was very devoted to his church and faith throughout his life, volunteering in every way possible from running the church bingo and concessions to helping pour concrete and painting in the new Holy Family Catholic Church. He also enjoyed volunteering with the Senior RSVP Program, the Harrison Community Club and was a life member of VFW Post 137. He enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and gardening. Guy also was a ski jumping instructor and youth skating instructor.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers John, Amerigo, Nicholas, Joseph, James and sisters Orlanda, Theresa and Julia.

He is survived by his sons Patrick (Karen), Duluth, Michael (Betti), Duluth, Paul (Sara Glidden) of West Roxbury, Mass., and Joe, Duluth; daughters Margaret (Larry) Flood of Lewisville, Texas, and Julie Perfetti, Duluth; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nephews Bob (Gail) Perfetti, Jim (Joan) Perfetti, Jene (Gloria) Torrigiani, Bob Perfetti; sisters-in-law Patricia LaPlante and Rosemarie Bolger and brother-in-law Larry Styrbicki.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Goellner for his many years of wonderful care.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Rosary Recitation with visitation continuing until the 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, all in Holy Family Catholic Church, Duluth. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, Duluth. Military honors accorded by the Combined Duluth Honor Guard. Memorials to Holy Family Catholic Church are preferred. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.

Julie, My thoughts and prayerd are with you and your family. I remember how active your dad was at Church and how nice he always was to me. May your memories of him bring you comfort when you need it the most. Sue Bartlett
