Patricia Ann Blaker, 73, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at home in Huntersville, N.C.
Pat was a loving and cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many.
Pat was born on Nov. 10, 1939 in Phillips, Wis., the eldest daughter of the late Peter and Elsie (Kuchera) Pisca.
She graduated from Phillips High School in 1957.
Pat married Billy "Bill" Blaker on June 29, 1963.
Prior to moving to Huntersville in 2004, Pat lived in Lake City, Mich., Duluth, and Fishers, Ind.
Pat retired from United Healthcare, where she worked for over 16 years as a department manager. During her employment there she had the opportunity to travel extensively. Her most enjoyable trip was to South Africa. Pat was most recently employed by Crossmark.
Pat was a very active member of the Senior Group, Bible Study and WELCA Group at Community in Christ Lutheran Church. She also worked for the State of North Carolina Election Committee.
Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed playing Mahjong and loved the outdoors, especially her northern Wisconsin birth place. She was proud of her Bohemian/Czech heritage. Since 1999, Pat and her four sisters enjoyed numerous "Pisca Sister's Trips" to different parts of the United States, Mexico and Jamaica. She was looking forward to their 2013 trip to Isla Mujeres. Above all, Pat loved her family more than anything.
Besides her parents, Pat was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 1997; her granddaughter Rachel Bonzo in 2004 and her brother-in-law Russ Lund in 2012.
Pat is survived by her daughters Kathy (Steve) Thompson, Debra Cook and husband Matt Brick, Sarah (Greg) Culver and Laura Blaker-Menz; grandchildren Jessica and Tyler Thompson, Natalie Brown, Nick Culver, and Gabriel, Blake Ann and Nathan Menz; five great-grandchildren; sisters Carol (Bob) Trampf, Shirley Lund, Sally (Ken) Denzine and Marc (Rob) Jamo; brother-in-law Ron (Doris) Blaker; sisters-in-law Charlotte Wallington and Norma Keller, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Pat very much.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7 in Community in Christ Lutheran Church in Huntersville, N.C. A Memorial Service will be held in the spring in Phillips, Wis., and internment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips.
