Martha Petrich, 89, of Duluth, died Sunday Dec. 16, 2012 in St. Eligius Health Center.

Martha Petrich, 89, of Duluth, died Sunday Dec. 16, 2012 in St. Eligius Health Center.

She was born in Duluth on Jan. 9, 1923 to Eli and Julia Petrich.

Martha graduated from Denfeld High School. She was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. She had worked at the Holiday Inn as a Waitress for many years. Out of 12 children in her family Martha was the only female to drive a car. She enjoyed the outdoors, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. Martha was always a waitress, weather she was at work or home. She loved making people happy. She participated in many church functions, and made the best Poticia.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at St. Eligius for the kind and compassionate care that Martha had received.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Martha is survived by a nephew Louis P. (Jimee) Petrich of Los Angeles, Calif.; niece Mary L. (Loren) Brun of Lino Lakes, Minn.; great niece Lori (Norman) Kordell of Lino Lakes, Minn.; great nephews Eric Brun of Florida, and John Petrich of Los Angeles, Calif.; and great-great nephews Matt and Kyle Kordell.

VISITATION: 10:30 a.m. Saturday Dec. 22, 2012 until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.

i worked with marty at the holiday in for many years. she was a great person and a great waitress!!
